Departure point on Kata beach is at the end of the beach past Kata Beach Resort.  A voyage in a longtail boat is an interesting experience and a great way to take short sightseeing trips to local islands for snorkelling.

The one serious disadvantage of the longtail boat is the lack of safety equipment such as life jackets.

Longtail boat trips are not advisable for non swimmers or small children.
Rental prices average 1500 to 3500 Baht per day.
